GTS Wins Third Weatherhead 100 Award


High-growth, family business earns another top-performance honor

Strongsville, Ohio - GTS Communications, a telecommunications firm specializing in business phone systems and fiber cabling, has won its third Weatherhead 100 Upstart honor for outstanding growth.

The 2007 Weatherhead 100 program recognizes more than 100 of the fastest-growing companies in Northeast Ohio based on revenue growth from 2002 to 2006.Jerry and Victoria Stallard Accept their Third Weatherhead 100 Award

The Upstart category awards companies whose percentage sales growth qualifies for the Weatherhead 100 and who employed 15 or fewer employees and/or had less than $1 million in net sales for 2006. GTS ranks #22 on that list, recording last year 13 employees and net sales over $1 million.

From 2002 to 2006, the company posted 123 percent sales growth and 160 percent employment growth. The 20th annual Weatherhead 100 is presented by Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management in partnership with COSE, the Council of Smaller Enterprises, and Inside Business magazine.

Official honors were presented to winning companies at a black-tie dinner ceremony on December 4 at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights.

GTS has been in business 11 years and is owned by Jerry and Victoria Stallard, who are president and vice president respectively.

Other recent awards for GTS include Ernst & Young’s Northeast Ohio Entrepreneur of the Year finalist, SBA’s Cleveland Small Business of the Year, the NEO Success Award, and COSE’s Ten Under 10.
