Looking Forward, Looking Back
January 11, 2012
Dear Clients Past, Present and Future,
We hope your year is off to a great start and that your prospects for 2012 are as optimistic as ours!
Jerry and I just returned from a family trip to Florida, and now that we're fully into the swing of work things again, I thought I'd touch base with a look back on 2011 and a look into the next year.
Last year brought exciting changes to our GTS family. We promoted one of our top-performing employees, Cory McConkey, to the new role of Project Manager. Cory's been with us since 2005 and also maintains his position as a Communications Technician. He's been very effective in helping us manage workflow and provide even better service.
That friendly new voice you may have heard on the phone is Kathy Ruffing, our Office Support & HR Specialist. We've known Kathy for years and are thrilled to have her on our team. She frees us up to spend more quality time with our clients and helps keep our staff happy and productive.
The most joyous personal change for Jerry and I in 2011 was witnessing the marriage of our daughter and GTS Operations Manager, Kelli, to Scott Briggs, our Communications Technician & Network Analyst.
Kelli and Scott represented us last year at a Comm-Works preferred partner appreciation event where GTS was given the "Bend & Stretch Award" for customer service excellence.
GTS was also pleased in 2011 to have added Communications Technician Andy Nichols to our staff. And, we gladly welcomed back Communications Technician Robert Jackson, following time with his family's business and other opportunities.
Last year, we also certified two employees in the Avaya IP Office phone system. Cory and Andy join Scott as experts in this Web-based application that provides
small and medium-size businesses with powerful capabilities for better telecommunication.
Speaking of Avaya, the end of new sales for the Nortel Business Communications Manager 50 and Business Communications Manager 450 is March 1, 2012.
If you currently own either of these BCM systems, whether or not we installed it, rest assured that GTS will continue to service them, even beyond the manufacturers end-of-extended-services support date, which is March 1, 2018. This means you can count on us as always for Nortel BCM 50 and BCM 450 technical support and repairs.
Until March 1, 2015, Avaya will continue to provide hardware and software support for these BCMs, which includes bug fixes, upgrades and expansions. So, while there's no immediate downside, now might be a good time to consider the switch to an Avaya IP Office system.
Did you know that in addition to business phone systems, and data, voice and fiber cabling, GTS offers computer networking and maintenance, and security and keyless entry systems? Learn more here or call us at 877-GTS-8866 for details.
As we enter into our 16th year as a family business, we are so grateful for all our clients past, present and future. We've taken to heart your feedback and are proud of what we've accomplished together.
GTS looks forward to being a part of your success strategy in the years to come. Let us know what we can do for you!
All the best,
Victoria Stallard
